GRA 101 Final Project Part II Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
There are two parts to the final project for this course. Final Project Part II is the creation of a reflective paper.
Your final project for GRA 101 consists of two parts: the first is the design and development of a multilayered collage featuring your name and the second is
design reflection.
The second part of the project is a short reflection in which you will think back on the design decisions you made in conjunction with the visual message of your
name, any challenges you may have encountered, how you discerned the target audience for your work, and how your experiences in this course will help you in
the future. This reflection will inform the grading of the collage. Your instructor will use the reflection to gain insight into the processes used, tools used, and
intended results.
This assessment will provide you with the opportunity to practice and master the fundamental functions of Photoshop, illustrate your understanding of the
basics of the elements and principles of design, and apply industry-standard design process to the creation of an original work. All of these performances are
essential for building a solid foundation for growth as a graphic artist.
The final paper will be due in Module Eight.
In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:
• Articulate the importance of discerning target audiences for successful delivery of professional design projects
• Implement basic elements and principles of design successfully in visual communication pieces
• Craft simple, coherent visual communication pieces using industry-standard design processes
• Determine the basic complementary and conflicting applications of typography and color theory within different media
• Use appropriate digital imaging software effectively in the design and development of visual communication pieces
